ONE MAN BAND

This short movie is very interesting to watch. This short movie is about two men compete each other to get a coin from a girl. The girl has an interest in music and like to hear the music that produced by two men. But the girl has only one coin, so she needs to choose only one man from both of them. The main theme of this story is competition. We can see the competition between the two men that against each other to get the golden coin from the little girl. The symbol that I can found from this story is the coin that own by that girl. The two men try to own the coin. Unfortunately, both of them cannot get the coin from the little girl because the coin drops into the drain. The most interesting part is when the girl got a bag of coin as the result for her performance. The two men hoping that they will get other coin from the girl but the little girl ended it with throw the coin. Both of them did not get any coin. Then they realize that competing each other would not bring any advantage for them.

The story is about two musicians playing as one man band and a girl, who was walking toward the fountain to make a wish. The characters of this story portray greed, which we can see from musicians trying to attract attention of a little girl to give one of them a coin. The both man compete with each other to get little girl’s coin, but unfortunately during process, they push one another causing the little girl to drop her coin into the drain in the square. The element of greed can be seen in the society nowadays. We will not be satisfied with whatever we have due to greed to gain more than what we have in life.

          One Man Band is a story about a street performers, Bass and Treble. For Bass, it's just another day of playing the same old tired percussion. He performed just as usual in that lonely road. One day, a cute little girl came to that plaza with one gold coin to make a wish at the plaza fountain. Bass tried his best with his percussion to attract that cute little girl so he will get that coin. His effort was truly succeded. He managed to attract those little girl. Suddenly, Treble, a flashy sophisticated newcomer up the tempo with his string accompanient and charm. He distracted the girls with his instruments and tempo. To defeat his arrival, Bass must reach his musical arsenal to rival. Then both of them started to play vigorously. The girl then caught in the middle of the duel. With a tremble, notice the music becoming louder and louder, she moves bakcward. Afraid . She shut her ears with her both hand. Unfortunately, the coin slipped from her hand and rolled down into the drain. Angry .With a fierce look, She forced Treble to give her a violin. She wanted to play music as to cover the lost money. Both the musician thought she will play badly. After a several tuning, she managed to play nicely and with a blink of eyes, she made a bag of gold coin. Numb. That is all what the both musician can do. The both Bass and Treble hope for mercy from that girl. Hoping that she will gives them a piece of gold each. But the girls was very mean. she took out a pair of coins and without a mercy, she thrown them into the fountain. The morale of the story is, both of the musicians should play together and they should not fighting because at the end of the story both of them regret with what they did

Based on the short movie ‘One Man Band’ that I’ve watched, there are three irony that shown in the movie. First and foremost, the little girl at the first place, wanted to give money at the pool and make a wish. Suddenly, she was attracted by a man who plays music all by himself and her intension of making a wish was suddenly changed to giving the money to the musician. However, at the last part of the movie, the little girl gain even more money as other people gave it to her as appreciation of playing music. This shows the first irony from this movie is the little girl started with her intension of giving money but ended with her gained even more money.
Second irony that I’ve seen in this movie is at the first place, the little girl was impressed by two men that play music all by themselves as they gives all what they’ve got to gain money from the little girl. However, the irony comes when, the two men impressed by the little girl when she plays violin towards the end of the story, moreover, her skill is even better than the two men.
Next, the irony that I’ve seen in this movie is, at the first place, the little girl wanted to give her money to the two men, then because of the great competition between the two men, her money is slipped from her hand and fell into the drain. Then she asked the money from the two men. The irony is, instead of she is giving the money to the men, she is the one who asked money from the men.

The dynamic character that involved in this movie is the little girl. At the first place, the girl wanted to throw her money at the pool then changed to give the money to the musician. However, at the last part, she changed her mind and decided to throw her money into the pool and not giving it to the musicians. Second prove is, the girl was easily distracted. Her first intension going to the plaza is making a wish, but she is going to the first man who play music, then when the second man appeared, she going to the second man.

This story begins with little girl want to make a wish with a coin at fountain but she was distracted by a man that playing music by using his instrument. That man hoped that the little girl would donate her coin to him. Suddenly another man came playing music with his instrument. He also hopes that the little girl would donate her coin to him. So both man fighting by keep on playing their instrument to the little girl. At one time the little girl become scared and the coin drop into the drain. The little girl asks for compensation but both men did not have the money at all. So the little girl asks for the violin and she plays the violin and suddenly a bag of coin drop from somewhere. So both men hoping that the little girl will donate some money to them but the little girl ended throw the money into the fountain. Both man felt loss because of them they did not get any money. The moral is both man should combine perform at better places because even though they were fighting but they were playing such a nice music.

The story begin with a performer who claim himself as a one man band. He performed several music instrument alone on a lonely street. Then it came a cute little girl with a coin. The performer successfully attract the little girl to put the coin into his bucket. Suddenly another performer appeared and he plays several music instruments too. The little girl is impressed and wanted to give the coin the performer B. Then performer A accept his challenge and started playing more vigorously. Soon they get nearer and nearer while playing more and more loud. The little girl was afraid and the coin slip through her hand and fell into the drain. She was so angry and force performer B to give a a violin. She wanted to play music to earn some money to cover her loss. Both of the one man band looked down on her and thought she will play badly. When he violin is well tuned, the little girl played nicely and it make her a bag of gold coin. The little girl then make fun of the two performer by throwing 2 coins on top of a fountain and make them go and take. That is the end of the story.

SYMBOLIZES IN ONE MAN BAND

The sort clip or short movie shows there are symbolizes that want to show to the viewers.

Firstly, the musical instruments such as tuba, trumpet, bass drum, cymbals and trombone symbolizes

that the two musicians are very talented and show their ability to play music. Each of them plays

different kind of instrument, one with blowing instruments and percussion while the other one with

string instruments such as violin and guitar. Then, the coin that was brought by the girl symbolizes

greedy. They were fight to get the coin from the girl. It is also shown by the girl when her coin falls into

the drain and she wants it back from the musicians.
